Roger has over 35 years background and experience in provision of practical seasonal climate forecasting outputs for agricultural and water resource agencies nationally and globally. Roger also has many previous years as a forecaster and researcher in aviation meteorology across Australia.
His experience and qualifications (including a First-Class Honours Degree and a PhD) have further extended Roger’s background to now leading key United Nation’s agencies and Commissions in agricultural meteorology and in intergovernmental management in weather, climate, and water resources.

Christa has over 20 years’ experience and qualifications in Agricultural Climatology (including a First-Class Honours Degree and a PhD), specialising in climate, drought and agricultural application. Christa developed the Australian Drought Monitor and drought indices suitable for Australian conditions, which are used in drought monitoring, planning and prediction for producers and policy makers.
She has a strong capability in climate change adaptation integration analysis and associated program and project development. Christa is an Expert Team Global Co-Lead on Drought as part of the Standing Committee on Services for Agriculture (SC-AGR) within the United Nations/World Meteorological Organisation.
She also has been actively involved in the international Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth (ACRE) initiative recovering historical weather data to underpin 3D weather reconstructions (reanalyses) spanning the last 200-250 years for climate applications and impacts needs worldwide.
Dr Rob Allan

Rob has a wealth of experience and qualifications in climatology/climate science, especially that related to research and analysis in data rescue, climate analysis, the El Niño Southern Oscillation (ENSO) phenomenon, climatic variability and change, and servicing CSIRO climate change contracts with the Northern Territory and Western Australian state governments.
Rob’s experience notably then extended to the Hadley Centre at the U.K. Meteorological Office (Met Office) and to lead many international projects, including the development of a global gridded monthly atmospheric pressure data base (HadSLP) and, under EU funding, a gridded daily atmospheric pressure data set for the North Atlantic-European region (EMSLP).
Rob’s also world famous for the development of the ACRE (Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth) project.
